I met Wisdom Kaye after the Gucci Men Fall/Winter 24 show and was able to ask him a few questions about the menswear season that has begun:
Can you tell us your impressions of the new Gucci collection straight after the show?
Yes, I really enjoyed the show. I could see myself looking at many of the pieces and am considering buying them later. The leather wardrobe in particular was really impressive, and there were exciting designs for the bags. Overall it was a very successful collection.
What’s next for you now? What other shows will you see?
In Milan, Gucci was my only show. That means I'm off to Paris now, where I'll see the new Louis Vuitton show.
On the subject of Louis Vuitton: How do you see Pharrell Williams' new role as creative director?
I think he is really a talented designer. He's creating something unique, something different, and I definitely have faith in his vision. I like what he's presented so far and I'm excited for what's to come. He has always shown me a lot of love, so I only think positively of him and am really looking forward to the collection.
One last question: What connection do you see between fashion and art?
I believe that many designers in fashion houses internalize and represent this connection. For me, fashion is absolutely a form of art and I really like when the two worlds merge and support each other.
